Day 11: Malmo 7/25/13

-went to a waste facility plant in Malmo called Sysav
-made an awesome group dinner at the STF Hostel  
           *pasta, salad, garlic bread, sauteed veggies, and vino
-next we went to Folkets Park and checked out the night scene
            *far i Hatten, Cuba Cafe, and Debaser



Day 10: Malmo 7/24/13

Today we took the train from Stockholm to out next destination, Malmo
-walked around the historic area of Malmo
-next we went to the new eco-district of Malmo called West Harbor
-had some mussels, potatoes, bread and butter, and a Swedish IPA for lunch






Day 9: Stockholm 7/23/13 (last day in Stockholm)

-Today we went to the classrooms and presented our "read the city" projects
-In the evening I had a traditional Swedish meal at a restaurant called Pelikan. Ate Swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes, lingonberries, gherkins (pickles), and a had Swedish Pilsner to wash it down.

Day 8: Stockholm 7/22/13


-Did a tour in the city hall (Stadhul) in Stockholm
-Went to Uppsala (home of Carl Linnaeus)

Day 7: Stockholm 7/21/13


-Went to Rosendals Tradgard- Kafe
        -had a great lunch
        -explored the gardens
-did my "read the city" exercise at Kungstradgarden





Day 6: Stockholm 7/20/13


-Went to Karlstad, an awesome little town in the eastern part of Sweden
-checked out a little eco-housing project/village (only about 12-15 houses)
-went to Karlstads park and park center, and had an awesome lunch




Day 5: Stockholm 7/19/13

-Went to Hammerby, the super fancy/ state of the art eco-village/district in Stockholm
-Went on an epic bike ride around Ostermalm (an island in Stockholm)
-Went to Stockholm's photography museum (Fotografiska), which showcased photos and videos by: Motohiko Odani, Hakan Elofsson, and Helmut Newton

Day 4: Stockholm 7/18/13

-Lecture in the morning
-went to Stockholm's modern art museum (moderna museet), and architecture museum (arkitekturmuseet)
-went to the vasamuseet (a museum surrounding a salvaged Swedish ship--the vasa--from the 17th century)
-ate lunch in rosendal park/ Djurgarden
-went to the Stockholm City Hall
-went to the Skansen open air museum

Day 3: Stockholm 7/17/13

-Lecture #2,  and guest lecture by Walker Wells
-went to kings square and ate some lunch
-visited an eco-friendly housing/living project in-progress, and met with an urban planner who helped design the project
-got a kebab, and found a cool bar--the bishops arms

Day 2: Stockholm 7/16/13

1st official day in Stockholm.
-went to lecture
-tour of downtown/historic area
-vegetarian dinner w/ awesome view
-did a little evening walking on my own
-capped off the night with a Swedish beer on the boat
