Day 30: Tuesday 8/10, Lucerne (Last Day)

Today was our last and final day in Lucerne

• Went to breakfast
• People started leaving
• walked around, checked out the Lion Monument, and went into a clock tower
• ate lunch by the water
• Said goodbye, and took the train from Lucerne to Zurich where my flight departed from

Day 29: Monday, August 12 - Lucerne, Switzerland

Today:

• Woke up early and went to breakfast (best breakfast provided yet!)
• Then we took a boat from near the train station across lake Lucerne to Wegger?
• Took a tram up mount Rigi (the Queen of the Mountains), then hiked to the summit
• Had some lunch
• Hiked back down, and took the gondola thing down
• Took the boat back, and then took a nap
• Went to the last group dinner, ate some risotto, went for a short walk, then went to bed

Day 28:Sunday August 11th, Depart from Freiburg/ Arrival in Lucerne

Today:

• Left Freiburg, and took the train to Lucerne, Switzerland
• Got situated at the hotel, took a nap
• Went to the classroom for our last lecture, presented our charette’s of the beer garden, presented a “read the city exercise,” and turned in my paper
• Went to bed early

Day 27: Saturday 8/10. Freiburg

Today:

• free day/day off
• worked on paper most of the day
• returned bike
• went to a tasty Indian food place for dinner
• went to bed early

Day 26: Friday 8/9, Freiburg

Today: 

• Lecture at the hostel in the morning
• Did a design project where we redesigned the Ganter Brewery in Freiburg
• Worked on “read the city” exercise
• Had an amazing group dinner at the Schlossle restaurant, which is located at the top of the hill behind our hostel in Freiburg. It was an amazing dinner, with beautiful views
• Enjoyed Freiburg’s nightlife (Schlappen)

Day 25: Thursday 8/8, Freiburg

Today: 

• Tour guide showed us around Freiburg, and some of its eco-projects
• Tour of Reiselfeld project
• Nap
• Worked on paper

Day 24: Wednesday 8/7, Freiburg

Today: 

• Bus tour to little eco-villages and farming communities outside of Freiburg
• One community was called freiamt
• Saw a biogas plant
• Saw a dairy
• Went to the wind turbines, and got to go inside
• After the tour we all went to lunch at an Italian restaurant
• Came back, worked on papers and “read the city” exercises

Day 23: Tuesday 8/6, Freiburg

Today:

• Went to lecture in the morning.
• Went on a bike tour up to the black forest
• Checked out the Heliotrop house
• Had a group lunch
• Biked through Vaubaun
• Came back, did research for the paper, got a kebob burrito thing, went on a hike up to the biergarten and beyond for some amazing views of the city
